網頁應用 (Internet application)
Rich Internet applications (RIAs) are web applications that have most of the characteristics of desktop applications, typically delivered by way of standards based web browser plug-ins or independently via sandboxes or virtual machines.Examples of RIA frameworks include Curl, GWT, Adobe Flash/Adobe Flex/AIR, Java/JavaFX, Mozilla's XUL and Microsoft Silverlight.
The term was introduced in March 2002 by vendors like Macromedia who were addressing limitations at the time in the "richness of the application interfaces, media and content, and the overall sophistication of the solutions" by introducing proprietary extensions.
As web standards (such as HTML 5) have developed and web browsers' compliance has improved there is still need for such extensions, when companies want to bring a truly high-end, seamless experience to their users. Javascript compilers with their associated desktop-like widget sets reduce the need for browser extensions even further. HTML 5 delivers a pseudo-application platform.
It is still not possible to build RIA-like Web applications that run in all modern browsers without the need of special run-times or plug-ins. This means that if one could run a modern Ajax-based Web application outside of a web browser (e.g. using Mozilla Prism or Fluid) it would essentially be an RIA, though there is some contention as to whether this is actually the case.

Most social network services are web based and provide a variety of ways for users to interact, such as e-mail and instant messaging services.
Social networking has encouraged new ways to communicate and share information. Social networking websites are being used regularly by millions of people.
While it could be said that email and websites have most of the essential elements of social network services, proprietary encapsulated services gained popularity in the first decade of the 21st century.
The main types of social networking services are those which contain category divisions (such as former school-year or classmates), means to connect with friends (usually with self-description pages) and a recommendation system linked to trust. Popular methods now combine many of these, with Facebook widely used worldwide; MySpace, Twitter and LinkedIn being the most widely used in North America;Nexopia (mostly in Canada);Bebo, Hi5, StudiVZ (mostly in Germany), iWiW (mostly in Hungary), Tuenti (mostly in Spain), Decayenne, Tagged, XING, Badoo and Skyrock in parts of Europe;Orkut and Hi5 in South America and Central America; and Friendster, Mixi, Multiply, Orkut, Wretch, Xiaonei and Cyworld in Asia and the Pacific Islands and Areapal in India.
There have been some attempts to standardize these services to avoid the need to duplicate entries of friends and interests , but this has led to some concerns about privacy.

Server-side scripting - 服務器腳本
Server-side scripting is a web server technology in which a user's request is fulfilled by running a script directly on the web server to generate dynamic web pages. It is usually used to provide interactive web sites that interface to databases or other data stores. This is different from client-side scripting where scripts are run by the viewing web browser, usually in JavaScript. The primary advantage to server-side scripting is the ability to highly customize the response based on the user's requirements, access rights, or queries into data stores.

時下遊戲雲集的遊戲市場,平均每天都會有很多遊戲上線,特別是MMOG遊戲,每出現一款大型的可能就需要升級電腦的配置,而商務電腦的配置較低,客戶端遊戲使用會有一定問題,所以網頁遊戲的出現將會是一個遊戲發展的趨勢。
與交友結合
目前網頁遊戲的一個新的趨勢是與SNS社區相結合,國外的Facebook和Myspace都進入了遊戲元素。通過進行遊戲,用戶與用戶之間可以更好的進行了解,並且遊戲為用戶帶來了源源不斷的共同話題。國內新近出現的米多網主打的概念是基於FLASH休閒網頁遊戲的SNS交友社區,是目前圍繞遊戲為主題設定SNS的第一家。未來遊戲與SNS的結合還會更加緊密。

A casual game is a video game or online game targeted at a mass audience of casual gamers. Casual games can have any type of gameplay, and fit in any genre. They are typically distinguished by their simple rules and lack of commitment required in contrast to more complex hardcore games.They require no long-term time commitment or special skills to play, and there are comparatively low production and distribution costs for the producer. Casual games typically are played on a personal computer online in web browsers, although they now are starting to become popular on game consoles, too. Casual gaming demographics also vary greatly from those of traditional computer games, as the typical casual gamer is older and more predominantly female,with over 74% of those purchasing casual games being women.

Unity is an integrated authoring tool for creating 3D video games or other interactive content such as architectural visualizations or real-time 3D animations. A browser game is a video game that is played on a web browser(網頁瀏覽器).
It is distinct from other video and computer games in that it
typically doesn't require any client-side software(客戶端軟體) to be installed,
apart from the web browser.
There are games that rely solely on client-side technologies(客戶端技術) such
as JavaScript or common plugins such as Java or Flash Player,
whereas some employ server-side scripting(服務器腳本).
The latter case consists typically of (massively) multiplayer

As a Game Developer you will work with some of the most talented people in the social games industry in a fun and exciting environment. Making use of cutting-edge technologies(尖端技術) across a number of platforms, you will be involved in the entire game development process from design concept(設計理念) to release and therefore have a strong influence on the overall product. We are looking for people who are solution oriented, goal driven and look at technology as a tool to achieve an entertaining result. Primary Responsibilities:
- Development of new games and related features
- Contribute to the evolvement of our existing games
- Maintain detailed design documentation throughout the project cycle
Key Requirements:
- Strong programming knowledge across several languages and platforms including ActionScript 3, Java and/or C++.
- Solid understanding of algorithms, physics and math.
- A natural feeling for and understanding of good gameplay mechanics.
- A wish to learn and share knowledge and experience with other team members.
- Someone who is open for input and enjoys working in an iterative(迭代) and agile process.
- Specific Flash/AS3 knowledge is a plus.
- Relevant game development and/or demo-scene experience is a plus.
- Most important of all, you need to love games!

About The "FutureSplash Animator"
FutureSplash Animator was a software product for creating vector-based animations, the predecessor of Flash.
It was developed by FutureWave Software, a small software company whose first product, SmartSketch,was a vector-based drawing program for pen-based computers.

The Facebook iPhone website was launched August 2007 and as of July 2008 over 1.5 million people use it regularly. A free application for the iPhone and iPod Touch named "Facebook for iPhone" was launched July 2008.Version 2.0 of this app was released in September 2008 and featured improved services such as being able to respond to friend requests and notifications.Version 3.0 was released in August 2009 and added features such as events, and uploading video with a iPhone 3GS.
在2007年八月FaceBook的iPhone版網站啟動了,2008年七月時有超過150萬的註冊用戶在使用它,2008年七月一個可以在iPhone和iPod Touch免費註冊且名為"Facebook for iPhone"應用程式誕生了。
2.0版的app程式在2008年9月推出特色在於改進了回應朋友的請求和通知的功能。
3.0版則在2009年八月發布而且增加了附加的功能像是活動和在iPhone 3GS上傳影片。
耳機
今天看到的是一款概念性的耳機產品,由Yoonsang Kim設計。從圖片中我們可以看出,這款概念耳機與我們看到的傳統耳機有很大不同,該耳機採用了類似魚鉤型的設計,直接彎曲在耳朵里,不用時可鉤在脖子上,方便攜帶。
據介紹,採用這樣的設計還可以抑制細菌的生長。
